Wikipedia currently has thorough articles addressing HIV/AIDS in South Africa and township conditions (this article). Kieran 12:13, 29 March 2006 (UTC) Reply Īs part of an intensive course study this semester, I would like to create a new Wikipedia article entitled "HIV/AIDS in South African townships" that describes HIV/AIDS prevalence statistics in townships, traditional beliefs about the disease, the effects of HIV/AIDS on men, women, and children, HIV/AIDS education in townships, prevention and treatment, and government and NGO attempts to address the epidemic. I think it needs to be re-written, in a more factual form, before being re-included in the article. Many townships in South Africa experienced (sometimes violent) protests against a perceived lack of service delivery in 20. Another article, POV or not, really needs to be found because this article, like most on Wikipedia, has almost no citation or documentation. 65.97.22.181 15:53, 5 March 2006 (UTC) Reply The article linked to at the bottom has almost zero information regarding this and is a poor source. This section is important to the article and could use more fleshing out in addition to being rewritten for NPOV. The qualifier "perceived" erodes the creditibility of the protesters who faced real problems, not perceived problems. I think the line Many townships in South Africa experienced (sometimes violent) protests against a perceived lack of service delivery in 20.
